D.El.Ed (BTC) (Diploma in Elementary Education)
ABOUT THE COURSE:
A Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) earlier known as BTC is a certificate programme in elementary education. It is a two-year full-time diploma programme that prepares primary school teachers. D.El.Ed prepares future teachers to teach childhood and child development, contemporary society, environmental pedagogy, and many more.
The D.El.Ed programme focuses on current educational needs and child psychology and the learning, reading, and writing processes. The course aims to make students more adaptable and effective teachers provide high-quality education to their students. Internships are incorporated in both years of study to assist D.El.Ed students in putting the teaching skills they acquire during their degree into practice.
This course is mandatory for serving as assistant teachers in primary schools of various states in India. The basic training certificate courses in the field of education is required by the recruitment boards of Primary Teachers. D.El.Ed is a part of the minimum eligibility criteria for appointment of primary teachers in government schools. Teaching is believed to be a noble profession and teachers play major role in shaping the future of the nation.

Eligibility for D.El.ED is 12th class with 50% marks and a degree (Graduation) with minimum 50% marks.
D.El.Ed CAREER SCOPE AND JOB PROFILES:
On completing the D.El.Ed, candidates can apply in Private schools, Government schools, nurseries, Day Care centres, online educators, Coaching centres and Private tuition classes. They can take up jobs as a junior teacher, content writer and/or reviewer, librarian, record keepers and as education counsellors.
ELIGIBILITY:
Candidate should have graduate degree in any discipline (Gen. category – 50%, 45% for Reserved Category) from any recognized university.
